Juri Frolov from Derbyshire was prosecuted in September 2023 after an investigation that lasted 4 years. TRAP partners Surelock were instrumental in providing evidence and worked with local trading standards. During initial raids merchandise featuring Michael Jackson, Kylie Minogue, Linkin Park, Katy Perry, Pink Floyd was found alongside other counterfeit branded goods.
At Derby Combined Court centre Frolov was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months with 100 hours unpaid work. Frolov was also ordered to pay almost £37,000 as part of a proceeds of crime act application.
